Integra Mining Ltd. (ASX: IGR, Pinksheets: ITGRF) is an Australian-based mineral firm engaged in the exploration of gold, nickel, copper, zinc sulphides, platinum group elements and uranium.
The company controls a consolidated regional tenement package of approximately 2,200 square kilometers in a highly prospective and under-explored region east of the world-class Kalgoorlie mining district in Western Australia called the Aldiss-Randalls gold project, among several other projects located within two South Australian mineral prospective provinces.
Integra's comprehensive re-evaluation and aggressive exploration programs have produced a combined 1.2 million ounce JORC compliant gold resource for the 100%-owned Aldiss-Randalls project.
The company's stated resources estimate is currently 14 million tonnes grading 2.6 g/t for 1.2 million ounces of contained gold. Approximately 948,000 ounces (79%) of these resources qualify for the JORC indicated category, underlining the high level of confidence in the resources estimates.
Ongoing tenement acquisitions, combined with aggressive exploration targeting new discovery opportunities and delivering grass-roots finds and high-grade gold intercepts, continue to increase the potential for further substantial resource upgrades.
Most recently, Integra announced that it has received the "biggest gold drill intercept to date" from the Salt Creek gold deposit at its Aldiss-Randalls gold project, an outstanding near-surface intersection of 78 meters grading 5.77 g/t gold.
Included in this intercept are two discrete zones of mineralization, 54 meters grading 7.18 g/t gold from 78 meters drill depth (including 9 meters grading 20.87 g/t gold) and 16 meters grading 3.67 g/t gold from 139 meters drill depth. These results are adjacent to drill hole SKRC147, which also returned an interval of 38 meters grading 3.06 g/t gold from 70 meters drill depth.
IGR has increased over 25% since the announcement of these latest drill results. The company hopes to continue adding to shareholder value as more positive drill results from the Salt Creek gold deposit are released and an updated JORC compliant resource estimate is expected near the end of May.
New and Ongoing Exploration Programs
Northern Freegold has commenced drilling in the Nucleus Zone on the district scale 166 square km Freegold Mountain project in the Yukon Territory. The initial 8 holes of the 25,000-meter 2008 program will strategically drill test the area surrounding holes GRD07-41 and GRD07-58, which returned 72 meters of 2.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 75 meters of 4.26 g/t gold respectively, and highlighted a higher grade gold trend with the Nucleus Zone, a low grade, bulk tonnage gold target.
Two of the four drills will focus on the Nucleus Zone in order that the company may calculate a NI 43-101 compliant resource at the Nucleus Zone upon results from the 2008 season. The 3rd drill will be focused at the Tinta Zone, a polymetallic vein system 20 km from the Nucleus Zone. A NI 43-101 compliant resource will also be calculated at the Tinta Zone, upon receipt of results. The 4th drill will explore the central area of the Freegold Mountain Project and will be following up on the 53 meters of 3.6 g/t gold discovered in the Goldy Zone in 2007, as well as the porphyry style mineralization discovered at the Stoddart Zone, and the high grade gold mineralization at the Ridge Zone, and other zones of interest.
First Gold announced that it has signed an agreement for a new drill program that includes a minimum of 5,000 meters of diamond drilling on the Croinor project, which is under option from X-Ore Resources Inc. (TSX-V: XOR). The program will begin on May 5th.
Golden Harp has recently completed a diamond drill program which tested priority targets in and around the Cook Gold and the MC Gold zones on its100%-owned Copper Hill project, located approximately 100 km due south of Timmins, Ontario. Twelve holes totaling 2,043 meters were drilled since the program began on March 26th. All drill core samples have been shipped to the assay lab for gold and base metal analysis and the company says that assay data will be released in a timely fashion as results are received for the individual target areas.
Ginguro Exploration announced that a 3,000-meter drill program will commence on its Minnitaki Gold project, located approximately 12 km south of the town of Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Ginguro has identified 12 gold occurrences on the property in association with splays off of the east-northeast trending Ruby Island Deformation zone. Sampling highlights include length weighted channel sample assay results of 5.73 g/t gold over 2.9 meters, including 10.45 g/t gold over 1.4 meters, and 8.97 g/t gold over 1.65 meters, and grab samples up to 117.73 g/t gold. Mineralization remains open in all directions and has been traced for approximately 3.2 km, over an approximate width of 1.8 km, along this regional deformation zone.
Ontex Resources has begun a new 8,000 meter, diamond drill program located on its 100% owned Brookbank gold deposit in the Beardmore-Geraldton area of northern Ontario. The first diamond drill hole is in progress and is targeting the Brookbank gold deposit at about 400 meters below surface. An NI 43-101 compliant technical report for the Brookbank deposit was filed on April 28, 2006 and estimated the indicated and inferred mineral resources at 2.0 g/t gold, 3.0 g/t gold, 4.5 g/t gold and 6.0 g/t gold. Given the then current price of gold in the $600/oz range it was concluded that 3.0 g/t gold be used as a reasonable grade cut-off.
African Aura has commenced a phase I, 5,000-meter diamond drilling programmat its 100% owned Batouri gold project. The 47-hole is currently underway testing areas where vertical channel sampling in pits returned up to 65 g/t gold over 5 meters.
